Posh nosh on the cheap

Hello Dear Reader,

It’s one of those nights that, if budget allowed, I’d have got someone else to have prepared our supper. Instead and as a half way measure, I bought some easy food on the way home and cobbled it together. Broccoli, sweet potato, tofu, falafels, avocado and tomato salsa.

My most favourite restaurant is in Totnes in Devon and it’s a veggie restaurant called Willow, we rarely go but when we do, we get food like this.

So, I set the table with the best  linen, put out glasses of chilled water and threw a posh supper together. It cost £5 for the two of us, which is massively over our usual budget but it was worth pushing the boat out.

It was delicious.

Until tomorrow,

Love Froogs xxxx

  1. That is my kind of food , especially the avocado, add that to anything veggie and I am a happy bunny. Made some houmous the other day, it made loads , had it with veggie sticks then on the next day on cooked veggies with sweet chilli sauce. I often think we don’t make enough of our veggies , love ’em !

  2. I love that you used your best linen – it makes such a difference. We love having fresh linen tablecloths and napkins for all our meals – why not? If you don’t do those things for yourself no one else is going to do it for you. I am fortunate – I never mind ironing the linen so no problems there.

  3. That was last night for me, but didn’t look that gorgeous. Stopped and bought freezer French fries to go with chicken strips from my freezer, plus bananas. Spent about $6.00 for three people. Cheaper than bad McDonald’s.

  4. I love Willow in Totnes too! Also Cranks at Dartington but that is expensive!
I guess I hanker after that 70’s veggie vibe, especially in the Spring and Summer. I’m showing my age now!
Your meal looks delicious and heathy. You’ll have to make a carrot cake at the week end to complete the theme! Gluten free, of course. 🙂
