We measure our love in euros

Hello Dear Reader,

If you’re outside of Europe, you may have no idea that the European Football Championships is taking place and football fever has gripped Europe. DB and I got together in the middle of Euro ’96. It’s an odd way of measuring time but Euro to Euro we remember when we first got together. Even now, I remember that England went out to Germany in the semi-finals and I had to console my young son who was gutted. Come on England !

So, that’s twenty years that this wonderful man had been the light of my life, kept me going, supported me, brought up my children as if they were his own and seen through so many of our troubles to come out the other side with our dreams intact.

I loved him then and I utterly adored him now.

Until tomorrow,

Love Froogs xxxxxx

  1. Awwwww. May your life together be long and full of joy and happiness. And you are right, I don’t much follow “football” much. But then I don’t follow American football either. So go England!

  2. Congrats. Just a little note, the Euro is massive all over the world though. Been watching it on TV since the 70s from the other side of the world.

  3. We’ve been married twenty years this year, but as neither of us cares about football, the Euro connection had never struck me!
Must have been an Olympic year, too!

  4. How lucky you are!! We have been married for 54 years, and while we get along just fine, sometimes I think we have bored each other to tears at this point. My husband would be happy to stay at home most of the time except for car shows and his friends—and I just don’t understand why he doesn’t enjoy quilt shows and such. (About as much as I enjoy car shows, but don’t tell him!) Turning crochety in our old age, I think.
