UFO has landed

Hello Dear Reader,

Managed to get a bit more of the UFO worked on today. Here it is in all its techni-colour glory. I’m just stitching in the ditch and I’m about half way there. I’m exhausted and it’s beaten me today. I really need to get on with this as I have so many other UFO’s hanging around, including a Christmas stocking!! Oh yes! That one’s a bit behind schedule, a rag doll, two bags and a knitted baby blanket! One at a time please Froogs but I really want to get the biggest one done first and make my way onto the others as soon as I can! Hobbies are supposed to be relaxing. All I can say is, it will be lovely when it’s finished and we could do with another quilt as it’s become very cold again.

Until tomorrow,

Love Froogs

  1. Frogs,
New quilt project takes me back to childhood. My grandmother taught me to hand quilt. She used old clothing and had a favorite pattern which was known as the around the world quilt.
It was made with 2 1/2″ squares. We
had to cut about 1,300 small squares and arrange in a set pattern before we began sewing the pieces together.
There are few things as wonderful as
a handmade quilt. I hope yours gives your many years of pleasure and warmth.

  2. Congratulations – what an achievement! It is beautiful, and so practical as well. My current project is a scarf and I may just get it finished whilst the weather is appropriate – I knit slowly!

  3. I love that you have made this quilt in such a generous size. I don't like when my husband and I are in bed and the quilt gets very small and can't completely cover both of us. This size will make the bed so cozy in the cold weather. We are being blasted by a snow storm today. The freezing weather is blowing down from Canada with a warm, wet system coming up from Hawaii! That equals lots of snow. It's quilt weather for sure today.

  4. That is truly beautiful. You will soon have it finished and what an achievement.

We've been without internet for most of the weekend so I've also been finishing off craft projects especially a kiddies jumper for charity. Lack of internet made me realise how much time I spend on my laptop, I think I'll have to put a limit on it so I get time to do other things.

  5. I love your quilt!!! I am in the middle of cutting out loads of square to make a patchwork quilt for my kingsize bed…. I think I might be some time! I have two small children and when I get a minute to myself I love to make things. Keep up the good work. xxx
