Lowen dydh sen Pyran – Happy St Piran’s day

Take one large onion, chop it, two potatoes peeled and chopped, half a swede peeled and chopped, set to one side. Take a pound of beef steak…………..well…it’s St.Piran’s day!!!! Make the pastry and cool it in the fridge for a while.

Real Cornish pasties are mainly meat! and have plenty of salt and pepper!
Crimp, to the side of course!
It should be as big as your hand!

Finished result……………………..not at all frugal!

  1. My husband's family are from Devon and Cornwall. I can still remember my first taste of a homemade pasty….. I still lick my lips at the thought of it.
